Fullerene C60 99.9%
|
The smallest fullerene in which no two
pentagons share an edge (otherwise
resulting destabilizing) and C60 (fullerite)
and as such there are also the most
common. The structure of C60 is that of
a truncated icosahedron, which resembles
a soccer ball, those consisting of
hexagons and pentagons, whose top ranks
each carbon atom and whose edges
represent the links. A single-walled
nanotube cured (P-SWNT) is a substance
composed of polymerized fullerenes in
which carbon atoms of different
buckytube link between them. |
